Dulcinea In The Forbidden Forest by Ole Kรถnnecke

This is such a beautifully illustrated book and one of those classic kind of fairy tales that kids totally get engrossed in and are so eager to keep on reading and turning the page to see what happens next.

Dulcinea In The Forbidden Forest is a perfect read for those early readers who need big fonts and not too many words on a page.

The story is about a little girl Dulcinea and it is her birthday. Her father forgot to buy blueberries for her pancakes on her birthday and decides to take the short cut in the enchanted forest to get to the markets quicker. Unfortunately he comes across a witch who turns him into a tree. Dulcinea then sets off to find her father and track down the witch to change her Dad back from a tree to a human.

My daughter who is 7 years old was easily able to read this book and be totally into the fairy tale of Dulcinea. She loves the illustrations and the story which was easy to follow and yet so captivating to read. It is a beautiful book to add to your children’s book collection.
