I still remember going to my first Essential Baby & Toddler Show. I was pregnant with Mia at the time and I was really excited to attend my first baby show! I didn’t know what to expect and invited my Mum to come along with me.
As a first time Mum, I found the experience absolutely invaluable as I discovered products and brands for my bub, as well as being able to gain information from the experts who were there on the day.
Fast forward three years later and I was pregnant with my second baby, so last year I attended the Essential Baby & Toddler Show at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour – and this time it was bigger and better than when I first went.
I went with hubby, Mum and Mia (who was 3 years old at the time) and we made a day of it. There was plenty of entertainment for Mia to keep her busy. There were live shows as well as play areas scattered around the venue.
I loved discovering new products and brands that were not around three years ago. I was also able to shop and buy things for baby number two and access some great exclusive offers and discounts.
I was able to test out some prams as we were thinking about changing our previous pram for a new one. They even built a pram track so you could test out the different prams which was a fabulous idea.
I was handed plenty of samples from different brands which was fantastic because once I tested them out on bub, I knew which ones to buy and continue using.
With my entry ticket, I was also able to enter into all the great competitions on offer at the show and it was as simple as just scanning my entry ticket!
This year, Essential Baby & Toddler Show is celebrating its 10th year and is on again at the International Convention Centre Sydney, Darling Harbour from the 21 – 23 September.
You can attend the event for free if you register by 20 September. On the day, entry ticket will be $20.
This year they have a great lineup of entertainment for the kids. There will be live performances from Hey Dugee, Peppa Pig and Mia is excited to see Ben & Holly LIVE. Plus there is photo ops with the kids after the shows.
The Advice Hub is a great place to go to for a one-on-one consultation and expert advice from the Australian Breastfeeding Association, the Gidget Foundation and CPR Kids to name just a few.
For the first time at the show, there will be a Beginners’ Guide Live Forums, MC’d by celebrity host – Toni Pearen. No topic is off limit! Birth plans, breastfeeding, toddler tantrums and sex after childbirth are just some of the topics that will be discussed.
There will be over 250 brands to shop from and by registering early for your free ticket you’ll also have the chance to WIN $10,000 in prizes between now and the Show!
Click here register for your free ticket and I hope to see you there!

We’re waiting until the show to buy a pram, so definitely keen to try a few at the pram track!
Wish we had something like this in Cairns
I can’t wait to visit the Redsbaby stand and test out their Jive tandem pram with my newborn and toddler. I need a tandem pram thats lightweight and does not take up too much boot space.
Pram track, what a brilliant idea!

So much information and fun,
just great for an expecting mum!
Mam Baby Australia/Baby Nest is on my must-see list I’m especially eager to look at purchasing a bottle feeding set/system as recommended to me by fellow mums.
CPR Kids as it’s so important and useful!
There’s so much to see! I want to visit all my faithful favourites: Love To Dream, Attipas, Milk & Co… but top of my list is a trip to Ripe Maternity. With my first child I bought super-cheap (read: super-ugly!) maternity and nursing clothes because I thought I wouldn’t be wearing them for that long. 18 months of breastfeeding later and I would have burned all those tops if they hadn’t already turned into rags! This time with bub number 2 I’m determined to get a few items of clothes that make me feel great… even after being chucked and dribbled on 🙂
