Mia has suffered from sensitive skin ever since she was born. She would randomly come out with rashes on her back, chin, legs and arms, and we had no idea why. We took all the measures we could think of to prevent her from coming out with skin rashes. Changing our laundry detergent. Buying a baby wash for sensitive skin. And we were conscious in buying clothes that were only made from 100% cotton. Fast forward 2 years, and Mia still develops rashes on her skin, and we still don’t know exactly why. When asked to review Itchy Baby Co., I was really keen to see if these products would help with my daughter’s skin.

What is different about Itchy Baby Co. products?
Itchy Baby Co. is created by a Mum who is a pharmacist. She wanted to create a solution for parents whose babies and kids suffered from eczema and/or sensitive skin. She created a natural product that both protects your child’s skin barrier and provides intense nourishment.
How does it work?
Itchy Baby Co. has made it super easy to use their products and it only involves a 2 step process.
- Natural bath soaks – are a powdery solution. You only have to add 2 spoonfuls into the bath and let them soak in it for 10 minutes. It works by leaving a thin film on the skin which acts as a barrier to stop it drying out. There are 4 different bath soaks to choose from.
- Natural moisturiser – while their skin is still moist, apply the moisturiser into their skin. This will lock in the goodness from the soak.
Is it really natural?
I think the best way to tell if a product is natural is by looking at their ingredients. If you look at the ingredients of other baby skincare, you will find chemicals in the product. The ingredients of the bath soaks include natural colloidal oatmeal, full cream goat’s milk powder and organic coconut flour. The bath soaks also have an expiry date, telling me that it is natural and as fresh as possible.
You will also find that the moisturiser feels very different! Instead of the smooth, creamy texture we are used to in moisturisers, the Itchy Baby Co. moisturisers feel a bit greasy, grainy and thick. This again tells you the moisturiser is made without preservatives in trying to make a creamy solution and leaving the ingredients as natural as possible.
Did it work?
We have been using the bath soaks and moisturiser for 2 weeks now, and in that time Mia hasn’t come out in any rashes that we are usually used to seeing! I actually love the process of rubbing the moisturiser in her skin as you really have to massage it in because of the thickness and Mia loves getting a mini-massage in the process. Mia also loves being a part of the process of putting the spoonful of bath soak in her bath every night. It has now become a part of our bath time routine and she loves watching the bath soak swirl around in the bath as I mix it around.
Her skin is definitely feeling much softer than before and not as dry. I love seeing that her skin is looking clear and no longer reddish or blotchy. Given that the colder weather is now approaching and Mia’s skin tends to get dryer and more irritable, we will continue using the Itchy Baby Co. bath soak and moisturiser to help leave her skin as supple as it has been ever since we started using it.
