With my second pregnancy, I have the time to really choose what I want and need for this baby. Second time round, I no longer have to worry about prams cots and baby seats because we can re-use what we already have. Now I can spend time shopping for those quality items that I did not have the luxury of buying with Mia because we already had spent so much money on getting those essential items. When I came across the new range of baby blankets from Waverley Mills, I just had to share why I’m loving them so much.
Australian made
Waverley Mills is an Australian owned and made company. It began nearly 150 years ago, with Waverley Mills using the finest quality wool, alpaca, mohair and cotton, to produce iconic blankets, rugs, throws, scarves and recycled blankets.
Generous size
I found some blankets that has been gifted to me for Mia were really small! She outgrew the baby blankets very quickly and found they didn’t last long. The Waverley Mills baby blankets are 145cm x 165cm, which means they’ll be useful for years to come.
Beautiful quality
I think every Mum can agree that they want the best quality for their baby, and you can’t get better than the quality used in Waverley Mills baby blankets. Their blankets are made from 100% Tasmanian merino wool and ELS Pima cotton. These are combined to create a soft, breathable, warm blanket with the strength of Pima Cotton complemented by the natural insulating properties of wool. The result is an unbelievably snuggly product. Every blanket is lightly milled, bringing out its silky and luxurious feel.
Designer blankets
The collection was designed for Waverley Mills by internationally acclaimed, award-winning Australian design duo, Rina Bernabei and Kelly Freeman of bernabeifreeman. Pastel colours are paired with vibrant pattern, forming a beautifully bright, stylish and stimulating homeware for little ones! Vivid pastel colours are paired with a neutral base to form a sophisticated look that adds a splash of colour to a nursery or child’s room, acting as a statement piece or as part of a theme.
A touch of royalty
Waverley Mills is no stranger to producing beautiful, natural products for little ones, and one of the most recent baby blankets to be made was for none other than Princess Charlotte. A gift commissioned by the Australian government for Prince William and Princess Kate. Chosen to represent an iconic Australian product, made from Australian wool, in Australia!
I’m so sold on these gorgeous blankets! The perfect gift for baby showers and newborn gifts – practical, high quality and Australian made! I’m certainly going to be adding this to my baby shower wish list this time round.
